Joshua grew up in Eau Claire, moving to California after he received his Master's degree; where he worked with children and their families in South Central Los Angeles for seventeen years as a therapist, clinical supervisor, and in managerial and training roles. He has been trained in both Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Managing and Adapting Practice evidenced based treatment modalities and acted as an agency trainer for the latter. He completed Jack Canfield's (Chicken Soup for the Soul) one year Train the Trainer program which focused on integrating experiential learning and self-development into any educational or training setting. In addition while in Los Angeles he engaged in a number of other projects in Los Angeles including the development of Transending Gender, a curriculum for the support and intervention for individuals who identify as transgender, in conjunction with the LA Human Relations Department, the co-development, of a clinical diversity workshop given at Antioch University, an open mic for elementary children, worked with Leaders Causing Leaders to provide workshops for children, and has also created communication and goal setting workshops for elementary and middle schools, those in the bleeding disorder community, LA artists, and mental health professionals. As a result of his experiences Joshua brings a growth culture oriented lens and a commitment to provide a solid foundation for the learning growth to the client's he serves.
